Through my expanded drawing practice, I aim to explore the visual perception of written language, symbols, and semiotics, examining the interplay between form and meaning, cultural associations, sense of self and place, memory recall, and emotional introspection within visual communication. In my MFA studio research, I investigate these intricate relationships through video installations and monotype prints uncovering how visual elements convey deeper meanings and evoke personal and collective memories. By exploring these dynamics, I aim to understand the profound impact the visual representation of language has on our cognitive and emotional experiences.
